Are you a Cartoonist? Heavy Sweater Comics wants to hear from you!

Heavy Sweater Comics is looking for submissions for its 2025-2026 publishing season! This year we are particularly interested in short mini comics and single issue one-offs, anywhere from from 8 - 24 pages. We want your pitches! We are also still interested in longer graphic memoirs, slice of life, history, magical realism, kid's cartoons, and comic strips. At the moment we are focused on publishing NL-based cartoonists, working in black and white.

Send along a synopsis, 2-3 page script sample (if you have one), and 2-3 pages of art (these can be finished pages, or concept art. No AI please!) to kevin@heavysweatercomics.ca or mail to Heavy Sweater Comics PO Box 610 Station Main, Goulds NL, A1S 1G7. Please refrain from sending original art. Mailed submissions will not be returned. Out of consideration, please let us know if you are submitting to multiple publishers.

Please be advised that we may take up to 4 weeks after deadline to respond to any submissions. Submission deadline is Feb 13, 2025. Due to the volume of work submitted, we will only be following up with potential candidates. However, we will try to answer any questions asked. We can’t wait to see your work!
